LineSider Collaborates with EMC to Automate Cloud Computing
Danvers, MA, May 10, 2010 – LineSider Technologies, a leading provider of cloud automation and orchestration, today announced that it is collaborating with EMC to automate their cloud computing infrastructure. EMC has implemented LineSider’s OverDrive to automate the provisioning and deployment of network services in the Atmos cloud computing environment.
LineSider’s OverDrive automatically virtualizes network services so the network becomes fluid and responsive in the same way server virtualization transformed the data center. Every application gets the network resources it needs, when needed, without any manual intervention dramatically reducing network operations costs associated with cloud computing.
"Together, LineSider and EMC are demonstrating our commitment to deliver innovative storage solutions that address the growing needs of our customers seeking to leverage cloud infrastructure. We believe there is an opportunity and approach to cloud storage that delivers financial and functional benefits to both our Partners and the Customers they serve", said Mike Feinberg, Senior Vice President of EMC Cloud Infrastructure Group. “By making our cloud infrastructure accessible and allowing easy API integration, we enable our partners to respond to customers’ fast-growing demand for cloud-based solutions with greater scalability, elasticity and lower costs. We are pleased to work with LineSider to embrace and deliver these benefits to our joint customers".
“The network is still static,” said John Donnelly III, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing at LineSider. “Every time an application, computer or storage resource changes in the virtual datacenter, there needs to be some type of manual intervention to provision network services or repair broken security and access models. In fact, one of the biggest challenges facing large virtual computing deployments is the enormous amount of operational time spent on creating and modifying network connectivity and maintaining security to support virtual computing. This is especially true for companies with very fluid computing environments where virtual devices are being added, moved or changed regularly between physical locations or network segments.”

LineSider Launches Private Cloud Automation with OverDrive vCom
OverDrive Virtual Cloud Orchestration Manager Orchestrates and Automates Private Cloud
Danvers, MA, February 23, 2010 – LineSider Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of network services virtualization , today introduced private cloud automation with OverDrive Virtual Cloud Orchestration Manager (vCom). vCom enables IT organizations using OverDrive to rapidly build, deploy and manage private cloud infrastructures that can be tailored specifically to the unique needs of individual end users and delivered on-demand with complete automation, security and control using an easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI).
vCom provides a GUI interface to OverDrive’s Control Center and enables IT organizations to automate and orchestrate network services including access and security across both the logical and physical network. The solution enables IT and business analysts to create drag and drop business policies that are automatically translated into device-level configurations that dynamically create and adjust cloud services in real-time as changes in the dynamic computing environment occur. This automation and control saves significant amounts of time, labor and cost because network support teams no longer have to manually and individually configure discreet network services across large deployed networks.
OverDrive is the industry’s first network services virtualization (NSV) platform for both enterprises and cloud service providers that integrates and automates the network services necessary to build and deploy cloud services. The OverDrive NSV platform transitions traditionally static network and computing infrastructures into dynamic, fluid and secure cloud delivery infrastructures that respond automatically to demand driven cloud activities.
“The network and data center infrastructures are still static,” said John Donnelly III, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing at LineSider. “Every time a virtualized application, computer or resource changes in the datacenter, there needs to be some type of manual intervention to provision network services or repair broken security and access models. In fact, it has quickly become one of the biggest challenges facing large virtual computing and cloud deployments, the enormous amount of operational time spent creating and modifying network connectivity and maintaining security. This is especially true for companies with very fluid computing environments or private cloud environments where virtual services and resources are being provisioned, relocated and decommissioned on a regular basis.”
The 451 Group Recognizes LineSider Technologies Vision and Product Architecture in Impact Report
Danvers, MA, January 11, 2010 – LineSider Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of network services virtualization , today announced a recently published Impact Report by independent analyst firm The 451 Group titled, "In Quest for Network Services Virtualization, LineSider Won’t Be Sidelined," is available for download on the company's web site. In the report, LineSider is recognized for its lucid vision and its sensible product architecture.
In the report, 451 analyst Rachel Chalmers states, “Cloud computing is virtualization plus automation and while many companies offer good policy-based provisioning and runtime automation at the service tier far fewer offer comparable functionality for network devices. Yet the network, along with storage tier, is the Achilles’ heel of infrastructure that aspires to cloudiness. By interpreting business policies so that they can be enforced and playing nicely with existing network and configuration management arrangements, LineSider offers a tempting prospect to overworked network administrators who are trying to support private and public clouds.”
LineSider recently announced OverDrive™, the industry’s first network services virtualization platform that enables enterprises and cloud service providers to automate the provisioning and deployment of network services in cloud computing environments.
“We are pleased to be recognized for our patent pending network services virtualization technology,” said John Donnelly, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing at LineSider. “OverDrive transforms the network so that it can be fluid and dynamic in the same way server virtualization transformed the data center.”

LineSider Launches Industry’s First Network Services Virtualization Platform
Company Takes a Holistic Network Approach to Cloud Computing
Danvers, MA, October 19, 2009 – LineSider Technologies, Inc. today announced OverDrive™, the industry’s first network services virtualization platform that enables enterprises and cloud service providers to automate the provisioning and deployment of network services in cloud computing environments. OverDrive is a powerful software network virtualization solution that automates and orchestrates secure end-to-end service delivery by virtualizing discreet network services in response to changes occurring to dynamic resources such as users, applications, virtual compute, physical compute and storage. As resources are moved or changed, OverDrive automatically modifies and changes the underlying network infrastructure based on business policies that define the relationship between users, computing, and network resources.
Datacenters, users and applications have all become fluid elements in this new flexible computing model however networks were not designed for this new dynamic reality. They are still static. Every time an application, computer or storage resource changes in the virtual datacenter, there needs to be manual intervention to provision network services or repair broken security and access models. Without OverDrive a single request to move a critical application to a new physical or virtual location could easily require hundreds of separate device-level configuration updates that could take weeks to implement manually across a fully deployed network or data center. With OverDrive the entire process takes seconds, and more importantly the security models are still intact.
"This functionality is critical for cloud service providers,” said Harley Stowell, CEO and President at LineSider. “For the first time, cloud service providers can have isolated VLAN segments created dynamically for their customers without sacrificing the security of their infrastructure services. Their customers have instant access to a multi-tiered, partitioned environment created specifically for their compute resources and protected from other customers by OverDrive's Business Policies.”
"Managing IT needs at our various sites and ensuring we could easily meet reporting requirements had become more challenging as our network grew in scale," said Larry Challenger, vice president of
information technology at GMH. "With OverDrive, we will be able to leverage technology, rather than relying on sheer manpower, to effectively manage our network resources. OverDrive's automated,
policy-driven network services virtualization platform has enabled us to cut our IT operating costs by almost 80%."
OverDrive Network Services Virtualization Platform
